To help you get to know her better, Alex has answered a few questions:
Q: What are your favorite industries to research?
I am most drawn to industries that resist simple definition. When professionals feel compelled to explain what they do, I take it as a signal that the field itself is frequently misunderstood. I adore unpacking that complexity to digest and understand it. Ambiguous or poorly articulated domains feel like they’re just asking to be translated into clear, structured understandings.
Also, having the opportunity to consider a well-known subject matter from a difficult-to-capture perspective brings me joy. To me, research is similar to treasure hunting: first, isolate what constitutes the “treasure”; second, identify the most viable path to reach it; and finally, rigorously pursue and capture it.
Q: In your 10+ years helping brands craft their forward-looking strategies, how have client requests changed in that time?
Strategy planning requests have become increasingly adaptive as disruption has become the norm. Brands are focused on staying ahead rather than reacting after the fact, which has increased demand for regular, structured check‑ins with their target markets. The goal is less about capturing a single moment in time and more about tracking the full lifecycle of the customer: continuously capturing feedback, identifying emerging needs, and uncovering new opportunities for synergy.
Q: When you are not focused on answering client questions and building HelloInfo, what are you doing?
I am likely working through my own personal “hit list” – a continually evolving set of objectives required to keep my life, household, and self operating at peak. I am known for an inability to languish; there is, after all, only so much time in a day and in a lifetime. As a result, my schedule is usually packed with plans, because I feel the need to direct momentum towards my goals rather than getting trapped in something that doesn’t achieve anything. My goals include the standard family ones, like ensuring we eat healthy, and exercise our minds & bodies; and that I’d like to do well at a triathlon event.
Q: What email newsletters do you rely on to stay up to date?
From an efficiency perspective, I’ve found newsletters to steal my time in recent years. I know the subject matters, companies, and products that I’m interested in and periodically, I just run the agent I designed for the purpose to update me on what’s been happening for the last 7 days for those keywords. I can always make time to dig deeper when I see a flag.
Q: What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success, and why?
My belief that anything is possible has made me successful. There is always a way, you just need to reconsider your tactics and then shift to better suit the situation.
Q: What was the first concert you ever went to?
Excluding musicals and symphony performances, the first concert I ever went to was Dragonforce. It was my first experience with power metal, and it opened a whole category of music for me.
