HelloInfo’s dynamic research cycle

by | Sep 19, 2024

Did you know that HelloInfo’s project management approach is one of our key differentiators? Our Project Managers are seasoned experts at managing client engagements, thanks to years of experience and impeccable people skills. We implement a dynamic intelligence research cycle for each project that begins with setting clear objectives and then carry out an actionable plan that will allow us to reach them.

Our research cycle follows the following steps:

Step 1: Define research objectives & goals

Before creating a comprehensive research plan, it is imperative to have a clear understanding of your project and research objectives. While these are often outlined by the client during the needs assessment and project kick-off, HelloInfo takes a proactive approach in collaborating with clients to build out a document of ‘Key Intelligence Questions’ that will guide our research journey.

Step 2: Plan research methodology

We typically plan our research methodology based on project needs and complexity. At HelloInfo, we pride ourselves on our research techniques and deploy multiple methods and sources to ensure we are properly addressing our clients’ questions and needs. These include:

Secondary research: At HelloInfo, we map out all the key sources that we will use at the outset of any project, with secondary research being included in almost all project engagements. Secondary research consists of an in-depth examination of company-managed sources including websites, blogs, social media, investor relations documents, as well as externally-managed sources including review sites, investor reports, industry publications, and more. HelloInfo also has subscriptions to third-party tools such as AlphaSense which enable us to provide our clients with information not readily available in the public domain such as financial data on private companies and broker analysis.

Primary research: Depending on the project need and plan, HelloInfo can deploy various primary research methodologies to address the most complex questions, including surveys, focus groups, observational studies, and in-depth interviews. Primary research lets us capture insights directly from sources that are not readily available in the public domain. Our primary research efforts can support all types of engagements, including customer and competitive intelligence, and enable us to collect various types of quantitative and qualitative data.

Step 3: Collect & organize data

HelloInfo never relies on a single source of data when collecting information that will inform strategic planning; rather it ensures all data points and insights are verified or triangulated across multiple sources.

As we conduct secondary and/or primary research, we are consistently keeping track of, collecting and organizing our data in a way that enables us to easily digest and draw conclusions from it. By relying on various tools and techniques to organize data, including databases, spreadsheets, Mural boards, charts, graphs, journey maps, and more, we are able to easily access and interpret our data during the project lifecycle. This becomes even more crucial when working with quantitative data sets or data models which may require calculations to be applied and updated throughout.

Step 4: Synthesize & present

HelloInfo excels at bringing together vast amounts of data and creating easily digestible, visually appealing, and actionable reports that address all research objectives and arm our clients with the information they need to make strategic decisions. Research outputs and reports are built according to client needs/requests based on a variety of delivery formats available, and are customized for different audiences, and for webinar or in-person presentations.

We take a customizable, collaborative approach when working with each client to ensure the research and insights we present are disseminated and socialized accordingly throughout relevant team members and leadership teams.

Conclusion

To ensure our research provides the maximum impact and value, HelloInfo maintains close communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle and schedules regular check-ins with stakeholders to share insights, obtain feedback, address gaps, and guide further research. This enables the research initiative to remain focused so that the core project objectives are met, and so HelloInfo can pivot with clients when new questions or needs may arise during project execution.

It is imperative to note that HelloInfo ensures that all sources it relies on for research are current, credible, and relevant, and that any method of research it deploys is ethical and appropriate. Our ethical guidelines are based on the SCIP Code of Ethics, which is widely used to govern ethical competitive and market intelligence activities.

At HelloInfo, we aim to provide our clients with the best research and intelligence possible to inform your strategic planning. If you would like to know more about how HelloInfo can support you, schedule a call with us.
