HelloInfo is proud and excited to announce that we have a new team member joining us!
Miya has over 3 years of experience in the both the public and private sectors, conducting research, analyzing policy and leading research teams. Miya is enthusiastic about learning new research methods, conducting and analyzing primary and secondary research and using her analytical skills to provide models and insights to aid clients in their various levels of decision-making. She especially enjoys the fields of technology, healthcare, and the use of social media as a marketing tool across B2B and B2C channels.
Miya has answered a few key questions about herself:
What are your favorite industries to research?
Currently, my favourite industry to research is anything to do with technology! FinTech, BioTech, ecommerce, all of it! Technology is only growing, and I think it’s important to grow with it and to try and stay ahead of the growth as best as you can. Remember when your teacher told you that you wouldn’t have a calculator in your pocket when you were doing math in the real world? Look at us now!
What email newsletters do you rely on to stay up to date?
I don’t subscribe to a lot of newsletters, but I read everything sent by The Hustle, Stacked Marketer, and a new one called the DTC newsletter.
What will change in the next 3-5 years in strategic research?
I think one of the biggest things that will change will be the move to even more digitization in the execution and delivery of strategic research, and an upswing in the number of companies wanting to know where they stand in comparison to their competitors. The desire to have a 40-page detailed report, double spaced, that someone must read over, make notes on and then summarize for a meeting, in order to know how Company A does in comparison to Company B is on the way out. Companies are prioritizing efficiency, ease of use, and ease of implementation, which digital project offerings such as qualitative data visualizations and quantitative data set summaries, etc., are doing for them!
What did you learn from your mom?
Two important things:
- To always put water on your rice before you reheat it in the microwave to make sure it tastes good.
- That we are floating on a rock in space, so any issue or problem that I think is a mountain, is probably actually just a molehill. All I need to do is take a few deep breaths and a step back.
What book are you reading now?
I usually always have 3 books in rotation. Something beneficial, something productive and something fun. This month they’re: Indistractable by Nir Eyal, Atomic Habits by James Clear and the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.
What excites you most about joining the HelloInfo team?
What excites me most about joining the HelloInfo team is the chance to learn more about competitive intelligence! After graduating university, I knew I wanted to work in a field that allowed me to continue with my background in research, that wasn’t sitting in a lab working with test tubes. When I was given the opportunity with HelloInfo to continue my love of research and analysis and add in marketing I was sold!
